I am a conservative, but I am apposed to any misleading representations like this. Could it be that as with ANY president your statesman activities go way beyond your stay in office? hmmmm? Carter is still out there, Clinton is still out there, Bush 1 and 2 are still out there. That may not be a good thing all the time but, they are still out there using their relationships they gained while in office to promote their beliefs and causes.

Thank you for your comment. No need to state up front that you're a conservative, this isn't a conservative or liberal problem. Of course President Obama isn't planning on being in the White House for 10 years and we at MyNewsLinx don't believe he will try to repeal any amendment to the Constitution. However, there are several reasons MyNewsLinx chose to post this video:

First, MyNewsLinx would have posted this video no matter who said it, Republican or Democrat.

Second, if a Republican had said it, the news media would have been all over it 24/7 claiming that the Republican is an idiot.

Third, President Obama makes these kinds of gaffes frequently without any media scrutiny.

Forth, and most disturbing, concerning your comment that any president's statesman activities go way beyond their stay in office, this should frighten you the most. Since when should we as Americans accept the premise that unelected officials (such as former presidents, or anyone else for that matter) should have any say in international events anyway? Shouldn't that be the task of the next president to pick up where this one leaves off?

Further, if unelected officials are out there making policies, how are we supposed to reign them in? Unelected officials don't have constituents to answer to. President Obama stated that “the objective of this trip was to have substantive discussions with people like President Karzai, or Prime Minister Maliki, or President Sarkozy, or others who I expect to be dealing with over the next 8-10 years.” With all due respect, if President Obama manages to get re-elected, after his term in office is completed it will no longer be his responsibility to have relationships with any other president or prime minister of any other county ever again. That privilege is reserved for a duly elected representative of the American people.

And that is why we posted the video
