ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — The increasing radicalization of Pakistani society was laid bare Wednesday when the nation's mainstream religious organizations applauded the murder of provincial governor Salman Taseer earlier this week, while his killer was showered with rose petals as he appeared in court.

Taseer, 66, the governor of Punjab, the country's most heavily populated province, was assassinated Tuesday by one of his police bodyguards after Taseer had campaigned to ease Pakistan's blasphemy law. Religious groups threatened to kill others who questioned the blasphemy statute, which is designed to protect Islam and the Prophet Muhammad from "insult."

At Customer Asking For Bacon

A worker at a Sydney Kentucky Fried Chicken has been suspended for going on a violent, curse-laden tirade after a customer asked for bacon.

The violent outburst happened at a Halal-friendly KFC in Punchbowl on December 26, allegedly after a customer became angry after being refused bacon on their burger.

The Punchbowl restaurant does not serve bacon or pork in accordance with Islamic law, and one employee can be heard saying “we don’t have bacon” before the other begins yelling.

“Don’t record me bitch!” he screams as he approaches the counter. “Don’t f—ing record me!”

The employee continues to yell and smacks the cash register display on its side, before other workers grab him and lead him outside.

“I’m gonna f—in break your head bro,” he says to the person filming as he is led around the corner out of sight.

A spokesman for KFC Australia told ninemsn the employee had been suspended over the incident and offered counseling.

“KFC Australia strongly condemns the behavior of the team member who appears in the clip and sincerely apologizes for this very inappropriate reaction,” the spokesman said.

Liberals Mock Conservatives’ Constitutional “Fetish”

Today, the House of Representatives opened with a new procedure: the reading of the U.S. Constitution. The founding document doesn’t seem controversial, but the mere action of reading it aloud is already drawing ire from liberals.

The Washington Post’s Ezra Klein recently weighed in on the debate, telling MSNBC‘s Norah O’Donnell that reading the document aloud “a gimmick” and that “the issue of the Constitution is not that people don’t read the text and think they’re following; the issue with the Constitution is that the text is confusing because it was written more than 100 years ago and what people believe it says differs from person to person and differs depending on what they want to get done.”

Passengers Overpower Would-Be Hijacker on Turkish Flight

Passengers aboard a Turkish Airlines flight from Oslo, Norway to Istanbul, Turkey thwarted a hijacking by tackling a man who tried to storm the cockpit and claimed he had a bomb.

Just 30 minutes shy of landing in Turkey, the 60 passengers witnessed a man from the back of the plane don a ski mask and whip out a device. He shouted “I have a bomb!” and demanded the Boeing 737-800 return to Oslo, the Daily Mail reports. But passengers weren’t willing to put up with him.

“I was sitting at the front end of the plane and I heard voices at the back of the plane around 30 minutes before we landed,” Lelya Kilic, one of the passengers, told the Daily Mail.

“I saw a fight between passengers and a man with a mask, carrying a device that looked like a radio handset.”

When the aircraft landed in Istanbul, Turkish police entered the plane and found a passenger sitting on the man. He was arrested and the bomb was found to be fake.

The hijacker was identified as 40-year-old Cumar Yasar, a Turkish national from a Kurdish village in the southeastern region of Anatolia.

HHS Alters Google Search Results For "Obamacare"

HHS is Paying Google with Taxpayer Money
to Alter 'Obamacare' Search Results

by Jeffrey H. Anderson

The brazenness of the Obama administration never ceases to amaze. Try typing "Obamacare" into Google, and you'll find that the first entry is now the Obama administration's www.healthcare.gov. If you don't particularly like that result, you'll probably hate the fact that you're paying for it.

You'll get the same paid-for result if you type in "Obamacare facts," "Obamacare summary," "Obamacare info," "Obamacare overview," "Obamacare questions," "Obamacare explanation," "Obamacare basics," "Obamacare pros and cons," "Obamacare and elderly," and even "Obamacare and abortion." For each of these search terms, and many others, the Obama administration's site comes up first, as a paid entry. But it doesn’t come up if you type in "ObamaCare repeal."

Politico's Ben Smith, in a post entitled "HHS Buys 'ObamaCare,'" quotes an official from Secretary Kathleen Sebelius's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), who confirms that this clear attempt to influence what Americans read about Obamacare does, indeed, represent your tax dollars at work: "'We are using a bunch of search term[s] to help point people to HealthCare.gov. [It's] [p]art of our online efforts to help get accurate information to people about the new law (i.e. [we] also use Facebook, Twitter, blogs and webcasts),' an HHS official confirmed by e-mail."
