A New York City construction worker who witnessed the terrorist attacks on 9/11 is very pleased the proposed "Ground Zero Victory Mosque" project has been stopped dead in its tracks.

Recently The Associated Press reported that Daisy Khan, wife of Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf, said that they were "pursuing a new vision for the future." Khan and Rauf had a major role in founding the mosque that was to be built near "Ground Zero" in New York City, but were effectively fired from the organization in January by fellow founder Sharif El-Gamal.

Andy Sullivan is a lifelong New York City construction worker and founder of the 9/11 Hard Hat Pledge -- one of the groups working to prevent the construction of the mosque near where the World Trade Center once stood. He says despite El-Gamal's reported commitment to move forward with the project, it is going to be tough to do without Rauf.

FL Court Rules Sharia Law Trumps US Law

In Tampa, Florida, a dispute arose over who controls the funds a mosque received in 2008 from an eminent domain proceeding.

Former trustees of the mosque are claiming in court they have the right to the funds. Current mosque leaders are disputing that claim.

The current mosque leaders want the case decided according to secular, Florida civil law, and their attorney has been vigorously arguing the case accordingly.

The former trustees of the mosque want the case decided according to sharia law.

Here's the kicker:

The judge recently ruled "This case will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic law," (sharia law), "pursuant to the Qur'an."

Now it's not unusual for a dispute to arise within a religious institution and for a court to order a mediation or arbitration, in order to resolve this without the court having to render its own judgment.

But what makes this case unusual, and highly troubling, is that a group of Muslim leaders—the CURRENT mosque leaders—who do NOT want to be subject to sharia law, are being compelled to do so by an American judge!

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf Claims He Wrote Obama's Cairo Speech

If true, and I have no reason to doubt it, this explains a lot about Obama and Rauf and the Ground Zero mosque. Even if Rauf did not personally write Obama's Cairo speech, if the speechwriters used Chapter 6 of Rauf's book for the speech, Obama has some explaining to do.

The Shoebat Foundation* has obtained a shocking audio recording of Rauf's own voice boasting in Arabic that Obama’s historic speech in Cairo was provided by the Imam's work with the Cordova Initiative in what the Imam called “The Blue Print” which, according to him, was the solution to the Islamic-American divide. Rauf claimed that Chapter 6 of the Imam’s work engineered by the Cordova Initiative was the construct for the entire speech:

“This is an example of the impact of our work in a positive way to be used by the President.”

"The blue print," Rauf elaborated, included everything from U.S. policy to Jewish and Christian relations with Muslims.

Ground Zero Imam Says U.S. Worse than al-Qaeda

New audio has surfaced of the imam behind the controversial mosque near Ground Zero allegedly telling an audience overseas that the United States has been far more deadly than al-Qaeda. "We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non Muslims," Feisal Abdul Rauf said at a 2005 lecture sponsored by the University of South Australia. After discussing the U.S.-led sanctions against Iraq under Saddam Hussein, Rauf went on to argue that America is to blame for its testy relationship with Islamic countries.

"What complicates the discussion, intra-Islamically, is the fact that the West has not been cognizant and has not addressed the issues of its own contribution to much injustice in the Arab and Muslim world."

Ground Zero Mosque Applies for $5 Million Federal Grant

The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation was created by Mayor Giuliani and Governor Pataki in the aftermath of 9/11, to “ensure Lower Manhattan recovers from the attacks and emerges even better than it was before,” as their mission statement has it.

Guess who applied for a $5 million grant under the LMDC Community and Cultural Enhancement Program? That’s right: Park51, the group that wants to build its Cordoba House mosque and cultural center near Ground Zero. If the grant request is honored, Americans in all fifty states will get to become investors in Cordoba House, right alongside people who donate money to Hamas “charities.”

This move has sparked considerable outrage from opponents of the mosque. Fox News quotes Representative Peter King (R-NY) as saying, “It is entirely wrong for any taxpayer money to be used to fund the Ground Zero mosque. This is particularly true when it is being done in such a secretive way. This just further offends the memory of all those who were murdered on September 11th.”

Ground Zero Mosque’s Hidden Websites: Follow the Shariah

Why don’t the 15 floors add up? How many floors does Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf need for the mosque portion of this triumphal Islamic command center planned for the two building sites at 45-47 Park Place in New York City?  Think about it: maybe 2 floors for the mosque itself and related offices.  A 3rd floor for the swimming pool, a 4th for the 500 seat auditorium, a 5th for the halal restaurant and halal culinary school, a 6th for the art studios, the childcare center and library, a 7th for the gym and basketball court.  Add an 8th floor for miscellaneous storage and offices.  And then add a 9th floor for the September 11 memorial, an after-thought that was recently added to the Imam’s plan, although that may in fact be more of a room off to one side than a whole floor.

That leaves six mystery floors empty – or dedicated to other activities. Six floors – that’s a lot of offices, a lot of employees, maybe more than half of the 150 full-time and 500 part-time jobs the Imam says he’ll bring to Lower Manhattan.   What are Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s plans for those six mystery floors?
